Star Wars Monopoly games are a must-have! Take a classic board game like Monopoly and then customize the board and the pieces to make them something that a Star Wars fan is going to love to play on!
Some fans are looking for a complete collection of Star Wars Monopoly Game Pieces, while others are looking for just one board that lets them play a game of Monopoly with a Star Wars theme.
So whether you’re looking for just one board or making sure your collection of Star Wars Monopoly Board Games is complete, here’s the whole enchilada – every Star Wars Edition Monopoly game that you can get.
Star Wars Monopoly "Force Awakens Edition"
This “Force Awakens” version of Star Wars Monopoly is a modern take, with simplified rules and a new board style.
Some of the biggest changes are the shape of the board, which is no longer the classic 40-space square.
Other changes include a faster playstyle due to there being two clear teams – the Light Side and the Dark Side, and a maximum of 4 players instead of a classic design with 8 tokens included.
Monopoly Star Wars Game "Open and Play Box"
This “Open and Play” version of Star Wars Monopoly features a unique box style that has a carrying case that opens up. When you open it, you can get right to playing because the inside of the case IS the board!
Something else unique about this board is that the pieces are NOT characters from the movies. Instead, the pieces are ships from the movies. This is the only Star Wars Monopoly that includes the Millennium Falcon as a game piece! The other ships that come with this version are an X-Wing, a TIE fighter, and an Imperial Star Destroyer.
This board is a modified version of classic monopoly, and has fewer spaces in the board.
Star Wars Episode I Monopoly is a “3D” board which has a board which is taller than most boards. One of the most popular parts about this board is that the property deeds slip right onto the board in a special slot over its property spot on the board. With the awesome way that the property cards fit on the board, it’s really very easy to see which properties are still available.
This is a “full” or classic version of Star Wars Monopoly. The game isn’t shortened, it’s the normal rules and there are 40 spaces on the board. If you know how to play Monopoly, then this is really easy to play.
The Star Wars Monopoly Game Pieces that come in Star Wars Episode 1 Monopoly are: Qui-gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Darth Sidious, Battle Droid, Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Jar-Jar Binks and Sebulba.
Star Wars Episode II Monopoly adds a new element to the classic Monopoly rules. In this version, there are two “force tokens” that stay on the board. If the dice come up just right, you can move the force tokens around the board. If they land on a space where a character token is, then that character loses some Republic Credits (money).
Other than that, it’s a full Star Wars Monopoly board, with all 40 spaces and classic rules.
There are pewter 8 Star Wars Monopoly Game Pieces that come with Episode 2. The characters are Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Mace Windu, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, Battle Droid and Clone Trooper.
Star Wars Monopoly Original Trilogy Edition
Star Wars Monopoly Original Trilogy Edition is from 2004.
One of the things that makes this Star Wars Monopoly Board Game unique is the focus on minor characters. There are already some boards that had major characters, but in this board you get 4 major characters and 4 minor characters.
The game pieces that come in the Original Trilogy Edition are Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, Grand Moff Tarkin, Lando Calrissian, Tusken Raider, and TIE Fighter Pilot.
The Monopoly board is high quality. Instead of houses and hotels you use ships – X-Wings and TIE Fighters instead of houses and Corellian freighters and Star Destroyers for the hotels.
Monopoly Star Wars Classic Trilogy Edition
A great board, and the only board to include a Stormtrooper or C-3PO as a player token!
There are 9 high quality pewter characters to use as player tokens. The Star Wars Monopoly Game Pieces that come in the Classic Trilogy Edition are: Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia, Han Solo, C-3PO, Stormtrooper, The Emperor, and Boba Fett.
Star Wars Limited Collector's Edition Monopoly
This is a very nice set, released in 1997, marking the 20th anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars movie.
Another interesting thing about this board is that it’s the only Star Wars Monopoly set with a Chewbacca. Crazy, right? But true.
The Limited Collectors Edition includes these game pieces: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, R2-D2, and Boba Fett.
Star Wars Monopoly Saga Edition
You may have noticed that there was a Star Wars Monopoly board for both Episode I and Episode II, but not for Episode III.
Well, at least not specifically. But the Saga Edition was released after The Revenge of the Sith came out, and it is kind of a “best of” for all of the films.
This is a really popular board because it has such a great collection of characters included with it.
Ep I: The Phantom Menace: Darth Maul; Ep II: Attack of the Clones: Yoda; Ep. 3: Revenge of the Sith: Obi-Wan Kenobi & General Grievous; Ep IV: A New Hope: Luke Skywalker; Episode V: Empire Strikes Back: Darth Vader; Episode VI: Return of the Jedi: Princess Leia & Emperor Palpatine. Whew! What a collection!
