Ghostbusters Reboot Director Paul Feig Announces Sigourney Weaver in Cast

Ghostbusters (2016) cast

According to IMDB, Bill Murray is making an appearance in the new Ghostbusters reboot coming in 2016. It’s also rumored that Dan Aykroyd will.  So, can I speak to Dana? I know, I know… There is no Dana… Only Zu’ul.

IMDB makes no mention of Sigourney Weaver, who played the orchestra player turned living embodiment of an ancient demigod, but thanks to writer and director Paul Feig for confirming what we’d hoped: Sigourney Weaver is in the movie as well.

With a cast that is deep in comedy, this looks like it’s going to be a great summer action comedy. Ghostbuster stars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig taking on the lead roles as ghost fighting entrepreneurs. Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon also star.

The original Ghostbusters was one of the best movies of the 1980s with many hilarious characters and very scenes that hold up well today. The original Ghostbusters starred Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson as the proton pack wielding busters.

The new movie bring a female cast to play the lead parts. Written and Directed by Feig, who also wrote and directed the Melissa McCarthy movie Spy, as well as directing her in Bridesmaids and Heat.

Now, hopefully we’re just one tweet away from learning that Rick Moranis will reprise his role of Lewis in the reboot. Well, one can hope anyway.

Ghostbusters is currently in post-production and has a release date of July 10, 2016.

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice – SDCC Official Trailer

If you weren’t at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, you might have missed this new trailer for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. You see plenty of action scenes from the film, which arrives in theaters March 25, 2016. The film centers around the fallout from the 2013 film Man of Steel, which has Superman announcing his presence to the world while battling General Zod, practically destroying much of Metropolis along the way.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman appears briefly in the trailer, though it’s unclear just how much she will be featured in the film. I couldn’t see Jason Mamoa as Aquaman anywhere in this trailer.

BB-8 Takes the Stage at Star Wars Celebration

BB-8 is a very cool droid, and is one of the most talked about and tweeted about characters in the upcoming Star Wars VII – The Force Awakens.

At Star Wars Celebration, BB-8 took the stage to show off some of his motor skills. There is a little bit of discussion in the short clip about the choices to use a “real” droid as opposed to a CGI droid in the filming, but the technology displayed by BB-8 has lots of people guessing as to just how the little guy gets around.

Look for a lot more BB-8 excitement as we get closer to the release of Star Wars – The Force Awakens in December.

Benedict Cumberbatch to Play Dr. Strange in Upcoming Marvel Film

The guessing game of who will play Dr. Strange in the upcoming Marvel Films release has finally been answered.

Benedict Cumberbatch will be Dr. Strange!

Benedict Cumberbatch has already established himself as a go-to actor to add credibility and excitement to a movie.

Cumberbatch is best known for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in the BBC drama Sherlock. When he was cast as a mystery role in Star Trek Into Darkness, fans went crazy with speculation.  When that role turned out to be Khan, both Star Trek fans and Sherlock fans got something they both liked.

Dr. Strange – bit player, sideshow, or integrated into the Marvel universe?

Dr. Strange is expected to have a 2016 release date, but so far there are a lot more questions about it than answers.

Though the biggest question that was out there has finally been answered, there are still a lot of possibilities for this film.

How will Dr. Strange, who has always been a bit of an outsider, integrate with some of the other characters in the Marvel Films universe? Are we going to see more of a one-shot story line or will this be something that will tie in to Dr. Strange’s later run-ins with the Avengers and Scarlet Witch?

Who will be the villain? The most obvious choices would be Baron Mordo, who has always been Dr. Strange’s most prominent foe.  If the story being told is an origination story, telling how Dr. Strange hurt his hands and lost his medical abilities, forgoing them to learn sorcery, then Baron Mordo will surely be featured in the film.  If, on the other hand, the plot jumps into current action and they leave the origination to be told through exposition then they could have anyone from Dormammu to Dracula as the villain.
