Magic The Gathering Amonkhet Masterpieces Are Freaking Amazing

The release of Amonkhet for Magic: The Gathering brings something that we haven’t seen for a while in Magic. The real world mystique of far off lands, and ancient mysteries that are fantastic and unbelievable but rooted in our own history and civilization.

Serpents, Sphinxes and larger than life Gods are on full display in this set. And the stunning artwork and mythos in this set is truly highlighted in the Magic: the Gathering Masterpiece Set. These 25 cards are amazingly beautiful, with stunning card art, and a hieroglyphic font. If you’re lucky enough to pull one from a booster pack or box – you have the tough choice of selling it or keeping it.

Don’t be a chump! You will get a lot of money going through your hands in the next 5 years. These cards will stop going through your hands in another 6-12 months. If you decide you’re a keeper for these cards (like me) then you’ll want to have a shot at getting them all – so go for it and make it happen!

Here’s… the cards!

Aggravated Assault

Aggravated Assault was originally released in the Onslaught expansion from way back in 2002. This is the first time this card has been reprinted. It’s legal to play in all formats, and its power is amazing. If you’ve got the mana, you can get an extra attack phase with all of your creatures untapped and ready for an extra attack!

Buy Attrition on Ebay
Buy Attrition at AmazonAttrition, from the 1999 expansion Urza’s Destiny also made an appearance in Magic the Gathering Commander. This is the first time this card has been reprinted. It’s legal to play in all formats, and its power is amazing. Take your smallest creature off the board in exchange for your opponent’s biggest non-black creature. It’s a good trade any day!

Austere Command

Buy Austere Command on Ebay
Buy Austere Command at AmazonAustere Command was first released in Lorwyn in 2007. It was a popular card then, and it’s remained a favorite from that set. Like Attrition, it came back in Commander. The popularity of this card was due to its flexibility, being able to mass disenchant, break all artifacts, or clean out all creatures big and small.

Aven Mindcensor

Buy Aven Mindcensor on Ebay
Buy Aven Mindcensor at AmazonAven Mindcensor was from the Future Sight expansion (part of the Time Spiral block) almost exactly ten years ago! This is a perfect card for a reprint in the Amonkhet Masterpieces set. Just look at the flavor text from the original: “The only question we need to ask is how best to fulfill the will of the God-Pharaoh.” Enough said.

Chain Lightning

Buy Chain Lightning on Ebay
Buy Chain Lightning at AmazonOh, Chain Lightning! How nice to see you again! Originally printed in the Legends expansion in 1994, Chain Lightning has been reprinted in various expansions and rereleases. But it’s never looked as beautiful as it does in the Masterpiece Magic Set from Amonkhet.

Consecrated Sphinx

Buy Consecrated Sphinx on Ebay
Buy Consecrated Sphinx at AmazonConsecrated Sphinx joins the Magic Masterpieces Set from Amonkhet after only beign released a few years ago. It came from the Mirrodin Beseiged expansion in 2011. But an awesome Sphinx deserves the Masterpiece treatment!

Containment Priest

Buy Containment Priest on Ebay
Buy Containment Priest at AmazonThe Containment Priest, like Consecrated Sphinx, is a newer card that is included due to it being perfectly in the theme. Containment Priest was originally part of Commander 2014.

Buy Counterbalance on Ebay
Buy Counterbalance at AmazonAnother throwback to some classic expansions, Counterbalance originally came from Coldsnap, part of the Ice Age block. It’s an intriguing card because it has counterspell abilities but coming from an enchantment. Very cool!

Buy Counterspell on Ebay
Buy Counterspell at AmazonCounterspell, that staple of Magic the Gathering. It’s been around since Alpha and I miss it everytime it goes out and I’m glad everytime it comes back. Definitely a classic card, but I wonder of all the classic cards, why did this one come into the Amonkhet Masterpiece Set?

Cryptic Command

Buy Cryptic Command on Ebay
Buy Cryptic Command at AmazonI love this card. I’m such a blue fan, and I love the flexibility of this card. Even though it’s a little expensive to cast, it’s like having two cards in one!

Dark Ritual

Buy Dark Ritual on Ebay
Buy Dark Ritual at AmazonThis is more of the classic card that I expect to be included in the Masterpiece Set in Amonkhet. It’s in theme, and such a powerful card.

Buy Daze on Ebay
Buy Daze at AmazonDaze is a good utility card, and it saves you from the big cast that your opponent goes all out for. It’s even better that you can pay for it even if you’re tapped. Nice card. I’m glad it’s back and it’s never looked better than it does as a Masterpiece.

Diabolic Intent

Buy Diabolic Intent on Ebay
Buy Diabolic Intent at AmazonI’m not a huge fan of this card. It’s kind of expensive, considering that I have to sacrifice a creature and then I still have to be able to cast the creature I pull out of my library. Compared to some more powerful cards like Demonic Tutor, this just seems underpowered.

Buy Divert on Ebay
Buy Divert at AmazonI love divert. Please cast your biggest spell at me. Please. I want you to so bad! This is from the Odyssey set from 2001 and this is its first reprint. I’m really excited to play it.

Buy Entomb on Ebay
Buy Entomb at AmazonFor those practitioners of Black Magic, the idea of searching for a card in your library and sending it directly to your graveyard is logical, just a step in the process to pulling it back into the battlefield. To a blue/red fan, this card seems like a waste. But I do love the art in this Magic Masterpiece.

Force of Will

Buy Force of Will on Ebay
Buy Force of Will at AmazonForce of Will is another counterspell card that gives you a low cost option to pay for it when you’re all tapped out. Strangely, though, it’s not such a good value when you want to actually pay for it with mana.

Loyal Retainers

Buy Loyal Retainers on Ebay
Buy Loyal Retainers at AmazonLoyal Retainers. Oh, yes, the perfect compliment to Entomb. If your legendary creature has already been killed, it’s back. If it’s still stuck in your library, move it to the graveyard – and bring it back!

Maelstrom Pulse

Buy Maelstrom Pulse on Ebay
Buy Maelstrom Pulse at AmazonThe only Amonkhet Masterpiece with a green mana requirement, wipe out all copies of a single card with this gem. I’m not a big fan of this card, but it does have a great picture.

Mind Twist

Buy Mind Twist on Ebay
Buy Mind Twist at AmazonOh the memories of Mind Twist and Hypnotic Specter. Hand deprivation at its finest! Mind Twist is back and looking better than ever!

Pact of Negation

Buy Pact of Negation on Ebay
Buy Pact of Negation at AmazonIt’s a free counterspell, as long as you can pay for it with your mana next turn. If not, it’s game over for you! Good luck… At least it looks awesome in the Magic the Gathering Masterpiece Set from Amonkhet

Spell Pierce

Buy Spell Pierce on Ebay
Buy Spell Pierce at AmazonIt’s not the best counterspell. It’s limited on what spells it counters. It lets the caster pay more to cast it successfully. But oh, man this is a gorgeous card.

Buy Stifle on Ebay
Buy Stifle at AmazonThis one was new to me, it didn’t sound familiar. That’s because I didn’t play that set! But man, this is a nice card – great art and I love the ability.

Buy Vindicate on Ebay
Buy Vindicate at AmazonBlack and White team up to destroy any permanent. It’s cheap and effective, and in the Masterpiece set it looks amazing. If these are your colors, it’s a great value.

Buy Worship on Ebay
Buy Worship at AmazonFirst seen in 7th edition, and last seen in Urza’s Saga in 1998, Worship is definitely worthy of the Masterpiece set. If you have a creature, you are much harder to kill. I love the Amonkhet version of Worship, the enormous statue looming large.

Wrath of God

Buy Wrath of God on Ebay
Buy Wrath of God at AmazonThis is the card. It’s the perfect card for this set (ok, along with the Sphinx). The art is awesome, the card is awesome and it’s title is perfect for the theme. I think 2 years from now, Wrath of God is the most collectible of the Masterpiece Set from Amonkhet.

Searching for the Amonkhet Masterpiece Set in Booster Packs and Boxes

Buy Amonkhet Planeswalker Deck at Amazon

Get a guaranteed Planeswalker card, a standard 60 card deck and 2 15-card booster packs. One very nice option is to use the Planeswalker card as trade or resell, so you can offset the cost of the deck and then you can take a chance on the booster packs that come with the decks.

A Preview of the TIE Aggressor Expansion Pack for X-Wing Miniatures

TIE Agressor

TIE Agressor“Squad leaders, we’ve picked up a new group of signals. Enemy fighters coming your way.”
A New Hope

At the conclusion of the Clone Wars, and after the defeat of the Separatist Alliance, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine eliminated the Galactic Republic. He reformed it as the Galactic Empire and appointed himself its Emperor.

This Empire possessed a different character than its Republic predecessor, and as its vast military sought to establish order among the galaxy’s countless star systems, the Imperial Navy changed to reflect the Empire’s new character. The old Republic vessels were almost immediately repainted, and they were slowly retired in favor of new Imperial craft—imposing Star Destroyers and staggering quantities of TIEs.

Flying in the skies of occupied worlds, these TIEs served as reminders of the Empire’s power and ambition. They helped establish its cruel order. They represented the Empire and its tyrannical regime. And they are the ubiquitous reminders of the Empire’s far-reaching military might in X-Wing.

From the Classic Core Set and Wave I through the releases of the TIE interceptor, TIE bomber, TIE phantom, TIE defender, TIE advanced prototype, and TIE Striker, the TIE fighter and its many variants have fought to preserve the Empire’s interests throughout the galaxy and around the globe.

Now, the upcoming release of the TIE Aggressor Expansion Pack looks to add new muscle and utility to this line of TIE variants, even as it hews closely to the aesthetics and mechanics that allow it to serve as an unmistakable symbol of Imperial power.

A 360-degree view of the TIE aggressor.

Performance and Versatility

During the development of the TIE aggressor, Sienar Fleet Systems valued performance and versatility over raw cost efficiency. Its unique weapons loadout and maneuverability were carefully balanced so that it would thrive in extended engagements, and it was flown primarily by elite pilots specifically trained to leverage the ship to full effect.

In X-Wing, the TIE aggressor’s weapons loadout consists of a primary weapon with an attack value of “2,” plus the ability to equip a turret and as many as two missiles—or the new Unguided Rockets upgrade. And these upgrade slots, considered alongside the ship’s relatively open maneuver dial, allow you to adapt the TIE aggressor to nearly any role in your squad.

  • You could outfit a Sienar Specialist with a Twin Laser Turret and the Lightweight Frame modification to run it as a cheap flanker.

You could even build a squad with four of these Sienar Specialists and buzz around your opponents, stinging them with a series of shots fired from long range.

  • Alternatively, you could fly a number of these Sienar Specialists equipped with Unguided Rockets, using them in your squad much like a set of extra durable TIE interceptors whose attack dice cannot be modified except if you spend a focus token for its standard effect.

This serves as a necessary restriction because of the upgrade’s potential interaction with Guidance Chips , and it means that “Howlrunner” can’t really boost your TIE aggressor wing. But it also means your opponent can’t force you to reroll your dice with M9-G8 or convert your hits to focus results with a Sensor Jammer .

  • And if you’re looking to have your TIE aggressor do more than simply damage your opponent’s ships, you can add a measure of control by equipping an Ion Cannon Turret or Ion Pulse Missiles .

Even a single Sienar Specialist can add a lot of control to your list when equipped with an Ion Cannot Turret, Ion Pulse Missiles, and Guidance Chips, and it does so for just twenty-five squad points. Or if you’re concerned about your pilot skill value, you could drop the Ion Pulse Missiles and Guidance Chips and fly an Onyx Squadron Escort with an Ion Cannon Turret at a pilot skill value of “5” for just twenty-four squad points.

Press the Attack

Even among the limited number of elite pilots the Empire trained to fly the TIE aggressor, some stood head and shoulders above the rest. You’ll find two of these ace pilots in the TIE Aggressor Expansion Pack— Lieutenant Kestal and “Double Edge.”

At a pilot skill value of “7,” Lieutenant Kestal is the quickest shot among the expansion’s various pilots and the one best able to react to her enemies’ maneuvers. She’s also the most aggressive of them, capitalizing upon the accuracy of her Synced Turret with a unique pilot ability that allows her to spend a focus token to cancel all of an opponent’s blank and defense results.

Lieutenant Kestal is also an excellent candidate for elite pilot talents like  Predator and Expertise , especially if she’s firing multiple modified shots from a Twin Laser Turret.

Here, it’s worth noting that Kestal’s ability to cancel all of her opponent’s blank and defense results works even if she’s firing outside her arc—making her an excellent counter to any enemy ships equipped with Autothrusters .

Alternatively, you could capitalize upon her above average pilot skill by sending her to battle with the elite pilot talent, Intensity . So equipped, Lieutenant Kestal doesn’t have to choose between focusing or performing her barrel roll to line up the shot she most desires. Instead, she can barrel roll and flip Intensity to gain her focus token, as well.

At a later point, Lieutenant Kestal can then spend a focus token to flip and refresh her Intensity. In this way, over the course of multiple rounds, she can get the most from her shots with her Synced Turret, and even if she ends up without a target in arc, she still gains utility from her combat tokens.

Where Lieutenant Kestal excels at pushing her advantages, the expansion’s other ace, “Double Edge,” is a relentless hunter whose unique pilot ability is roughly the equivalent of a built-in Gunner upgrade. Once per round, after he performs a secondary weapon attack that doesn’t hit, he can perform another attack with a different weapon.

This makes “Double Edge” another good candidate for the Predator or Expertise upgrades since both modify multiple attacks, but it also makes him an ideal pilot to wield the notoriously fickle Unguided Rockets. They don’t cost many of your squad points, they offer a good increase on the raw number of dice his ship can fire, and it doesn’t matter so much if he hits or misses with those rockets.

In fact, the truth is that there are multiple ways to take advantage of his misses. A nearby Operations Specialist might pass a focus token to another ship. Or if you gave “Double Edge” an Ion Cannon Turret, you could force an enemy pilot to spend his focus and evade tokens to avoid taking an ion token. That would then leave the target without tokens as you fire your XX-23 S-thread Tracers to give all your TIE bombers the target locks they need to line up their awe-inspiring barrage of Proton Torpedoes .

“Double Edge” forces Poe Dameron to make a difficult decision—spend the focus to avoid being ionized, or take the ion token so that “Double Edge” can’t fire his XX-23 S-thread Tracers and potentially give the TIE bombers the target locks they need to unload their Proton Torpedoes.

The Role Player

While the TIE aggressor can be outfitted to play many different roles, there is one role that it doesn’t play very well. It doesn’t quite fit into the standard TIE swarm. It doesn’t feature the raw efficiency that the TIE fighter offers when you weigh its attack and agility against its squad-point cost. You could likely find a great deal of success with four Sienar Specialists outfitted with Twin Laser Turrets, but even so, you wouldn’t fly them as a swarm; you would want to fly them out of formation.

The TIE aggressor just isn’t a swarm ship. It’s a role player. It begs to be assigned a unique duty within your squadron, whether as a flanker, an ace, or a control ship that balances the main thrust of your squad with an entirely different sort of threat. It begs exploration.

Star Wars Destiny Spirit Of Rebellion Expansion Red Villain Preview

With the release of the Spirit of Rebellion Expansion for Star Wars: Destiny fast approaching, fans of the collectible card and dice game are finding themselves waiting excitedly for May. Thankfully, we have some great posts like this one from Fantasy Flight Games where we can get a closer look at the upcoming expansion. Explore the Star Wars: Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Expansion‘s villains to get a glimpse into some of the characters, events and gameplay changes that are coming with the newest release!Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Red Villains Preview 1

Stormtroopers in Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Expansion

All around the galaxy, Stormtroopers are feared for their deadly accurate aim with their trusty blasters. However, some like FN-2199 (Spirit of Rebellion, 2), the loyal Stormtrooper who once went toe-to toe with Finn in melee combat, are prepared for any type of fight. FN-2199’s Star Wars: Destiny version makes him a master of any tool, able to roll a weapon’s die whenever you play one on him, and then immediately resolve it. This allows for instant speed rolls from some of the most dangerous dice in the game, and if the weapon has the “Ambush” keyword like the Holdout Blaster  (Awakenings, 63), you can equip it, roll its die, resolve it, and then take another action! FN-2199 also has three sides on his character die showing damage, one showing a shield, and another showing a resource, making him a consistent threat with several support options. At ten points for a normal version or 13 points for an elite, FN-2199 can improve any team you place him on, especially if you have a deck full of weapons.

Weapons in Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion

Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Z6 Riot Control Baton
Plenty of options for your stormtroopers, such as this Z6 Riot Control Baton

Spirit of Rebellion introduces plenty of weapons for FN-2199 to use, including the  Z6 Riot Control Baton (Spirit of Rebellion, 8).

Though the baton has two blank sides, you can reroll the die when you initially roll it into your pool, giving you a second chance to get the results you’re looking for. With a 50/50 chance to roll multiple melee damage, playing the baton gives you high odds of hitting your opponent, and if you play it on FN-2199, you get to resolve that damage right away.

If your soldiers prefer a blaster, the DT-29 Heavy Blaster Pistol (Spirit of Rebellion, 7) features one side of ranged damage, two sides of modified ranged damage, one side showing a shield, and a special symbol that allows you to remove an opponent’s die showing a resource cost. The damage, protection, and disruption the blaster offers make it a versatile weapon fit for any Red Villain deck.

Support Characters in Spirit of Rebellion Expansion for Star Wars Destiny

Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion TIE Pilot
Support Characters Like This TIE Fighter Prevent Disruption From Your Opponent

With the pure firepower of red characters, sometimes an opponent’s only defense is to disrupt your dice, using effects to remove them before they can be resolved. Even your best laid plans can be destroyed with the removal of your key die. Luckily, characters like Tie Pilot (Spirit of Rebellion, 4) can provide protection for your arsenal. The pilot not only provides plenty of modified ranged damage but also protects your other dice showing ranged damage symbols, preventing them from being removed by tricky effects from your opponent! The Tie Pilot’s die is rounded out with a focus symbol and a resource symbol, providing a valuable support option for eight points.

Support Your Battles With Events And Support In Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Expansion

Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Supply Line
Reroll your dice for free with Supply Line

The military might of the Star Wars galaxy needs the resources to supply their armies, and Spirit of Rebellion offers plenty of ways to get these. One of the most efficient is Supply Line (Spirit of Rebellion, 51), a support card that’s die not only has three sides that enhance your resources and another that has a focus symbol, but a special ability that allows you to reroll any amount of your dice. The ability to reroll any amount of dice without losing a card from your hand allows you to remain consistent and efficient.

Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Imperial War Machine
Imperial War Machine increases effectiveness by reducing the cost of battle

Imperial War Machine (Spirit of Rebellion, 62) helps pump your economy in a more unorthodox way, letting you resolve a die with a resource symbol for free. Not only does this help you save valuable resources for other purposes, but it can provide the element of surprise if one of your die is showing a resource symbol that your opponent thinks you have no way to resolve.

Red Card Gameplay Tips for the Spirit of Rebellion Expansion

Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Director Krennic
Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion Death Trooper

As with Awakenings, red characters thrive when they control the battlefield. We’ve already revealed Director Krennic (Spirit of Rebellion, 3) and his loyal Death Troopers (Spirit of Rebellion, 1), but plenty of other cards in Spirit of Rebellion give red characters a boost when they control the battlefield. An E-Web Emplacement (Spirit of Rebellion, 5) is damaging right out of the gate, but if you control the battlefield, the value of each of its sides is increased by one, giving you the ability to do multiple ranged damage on four of its sides or provide three shields to one of your characters. All of these die sides are high impact, whether its damaging your opponent with massive ranged damage or protecting your own characters with a myriad of shields. When getting a boost from controlling the battlefield, an E-Web Emplacement will be one of your most important dice.

Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion E-Web Emplacement

Even if the odds of damaging your opponent seem likely, there is always the chance that something goes wrong. Those who would stand against your forces may begin to think they can slip through your grasp, but as long as Red Villains have the battlefield, they can overcome any obstacle. We Have Them Now (Spirit of Rebellion, 68) allows you to change four of your die to sides showing melee or ranged damage. For a mere two resources, you can turn an entire field of blanks into a barrage of damage. You can even combine We Have Them Now with the new battlefield Secret Facility’s (Spirit of Rebellion, 159) ability to immediately resolve three of your freshly turned damage die while simultaneously keeping control of the battlefield, allowing you to retain your advantage without disrupting your tempo.
Star Wars Destiny Spirit of Rebellion We Have Them NowThis element of surprise can also be seen in Lockdown (Spirit of Rebellion, 63)—if you spot two red characters, you can take control of the battlefield without claiming it. Perhaps most importantly, Lockdown has the “Ambush” keyword, meaning you can steal the battlefield from your opponent to turn on effects like E-Web Emplacement or We Have Them Now, and use them immediately, taking your opponent completely by surprise.
Unrelenting Force
Controlling the Battlefield and raw firepower is a sure path to victory for Red Villains in Star Wars: Destiny, and Spirit of Rebellion looks to expand on those concepts. Whether it’s manipulating your dice rolls for massive damage or equipping your loyal soldiers with powerful weapons, Red Villains always have a way to overwhelm their opponent and squash the Spirit of Rebellion.

There Are A Lot More Star Wars Movie Posters Than You Ever Imagined

Star Wars Movie Poster - Episode 4 A New Hope

Gracing the rooms of Star Wars fans everywhere, nothing stakes a claim on the theme of a room or sets the mood for a nice collection of Star Wars memorabilia as great Star Wars movie posters do.  From the classic original Star Wars (A New Hope) to the latest (The Last Jedi, which now has some advance movie posters showing up) there is something for everyone.

Star Wars Movie Posters

These posters are a great addition to a room. Since there are so many options, even multiples for the same film, you can really choose just the right posters for you. For example, you could pick your favorite from each episode to display as a large gallery. Or, you could select several from one film for a smaller and more thematic collection.

There are some movie poster collections that are available. However, the problem is that when you select a movie poster collection, you get somebody else’s choice. As you can see from this list, you have several posters available for each film. So even if the collection was a lower price per poster, you may get your first choice of posters from some films but not from others.

All of these movie posters are 27″ x 40″, which is the same size as a theater movie poster. These movie posters really set the tone for your den, family room or home theater. Even though they are not limited edition Star Wars wall art, or come with certificates of authenticity, they add character to the room and look awesome in a nice frame!

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace Movie Posters

The teaser poster for The Phantom Menace is one of the most iconic of all Star Wars movie posters. Even though it came out more than 20 years after the original Star Wars movie, the image of the young Anakin casting the shadow of Darth Vader really intrigued fans. Because of this, the teaser poster became a very popular poster and still makes a great addition to a Star Wars movie poster collection. Also available from The Phantom Menace are theatrical posters for standard and 3-D releases.

Star Wars Episode 2: The Attack of the Clones Movie Posters

The teaser poster for Episode 2: Attack of the Clones shows Anakin and Padme together, but facing apart.  The text, “A Jedi Shall Not Know Anger, Nor Hatred, Nor Love,” sets the tone. While this does a good job of teasing the film, it seems to lack the intrigue of the teaser poster from The Phantom Menace. However, once you have started collecting Star Wars movie posters, it makes sense to include it. Also available is the theatrical release poster.

Star Wars Episode 3: The Revenge of the Sith Movie Posters

The Revenge of the Sith teaser is a darker image than Attack of the Clones. With Anakin’s menacing face holding Darth Vader’s red lightsaber, everyone knows what’s in store. Similar to the teaser poster for Attack of the Clones, the Revenge of the Sith teaser poster is not all that popular on its own. However, for Star Wars movie poster collectors, it makes sense to get it. And of course, there’s the theatrical release poster.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope Movie Posters

If you only have one Star Wars movie poster, it’s likely going to be one of these. This is because Episode 4: A New Hope sets the standard for Star Wars movie posters. Whether you go for the lightsaber or the blaster version, these are the posters that you’ll want to base your collection around.

From the ominous teaser poster to the Special Edition theatrical release, the Empire Strikes back movie posters are dramatic and statement making additions to any Star Wars movie poster collection. First, the teaser poster shows the dark and ominous Darth Vader superimposed over the galaxy. Then there are multiple theatrical release posters that highlight characters and scenes from what is probably the most popular sequel of all time!

Star Wars Episode 6: The Return of the Jedi Movie Posters

Many don’t know that before it was called “Return of the Jedi,” Episode 6 was going to be called “Revenge of the Jedi”. However, the idea of revenge was not a guiding principle of the Jedi. Eventually, the name was dropped, but not before the teaser posters had been sent out. Because of this name change, the Revenge of the Jedi posters are very popular.

At this point, there are only a couple of Star Wars movie posters for Episode 8: The Last Jedi. However, they currently appear to be the work of ambitious graphic designers and printing companies. Still, if you’re looking for an entry for the latest installment, then you will probably like this Star Wars The Last Jedi teaser poster.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Movie Posters

For not being part of the main character storyline, Rogue One has been a complete success. The movie is great, and the movie posters are, too! First, the teaser poster shows the Death Star hanging above a planet like a moon. Also, there are several versions of the theatrical movie posters. Finally, you’ve got your choice of two different Star Wars movie posters for Rogue One in IMAX.

Star Wars Episode VII Force Awakens Wall Art

Sunset Vigil by Jerry Vanderstelt, a Star Wars the Force Awakens Fine Art Print

Star Wars has been inspiring artists for decades, and the new characters and settings from the Episode VII: The Force Awakens is no different. These Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens Wall Art pieces are beautiful limited-edition Giclee prints, signed by the artists.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Wall Art

These are NOT simple poster-quality prints. They Star Wars Giclee Prints are high quality, and use a professional ink printing process. These prints do cost more. But the cost of these prints are in line with the printing process and the level of detail that each brings to the Star Wars characters, ships and scenes. Additionally, these are all exclusive, limited edition prints. Because of their limited availability, you will not find these prints as posters, and you won’t find them in mass-market retailer. Also, you won’t see these prints on other people’s walls- they are a very unique conversation piece.

Where There is Darkness, There is Light by Brian Rood

Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens Art by Brian Rood Darkness Light Giclee Print
Where There is Darkness There Is Light by Brian Rood

Brian Rood has several pieces in this list. And it’s easy to see why! Just notice the stunning details and colors in this print.  Where There is Darkness, There is Light is a 30″x20″ Giclee print, with a limited print run of 95. Each print is signed by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

TIE Fighter Down by Stephan Martiniere

TIE Fighter Down shows the barren yet beautiful landscape of Jakku. And this is one of my favorite pieces. In this piece,  Rey and BB-8 are overlooking the wreckage of a crashed TIE Fighter.

This Star Wars wall art has a higher print run than many of the other pieces in this list, with the limited edition release of 295 prints. However, they won’t be available for long. For one thing, the art is beautiful and dramatic. Also, it’s a great size, 30″ tall x 20″ wide, so it’s perfect for framing and placing on a large open wall. Finally, like the other fine art giclee prints in this list, artist Stephane Martiniere has signed each print and they come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Star Wars Wall Art - Episode 7 BB-8 Astromech
BB-8 Astromech by Mike Kungl
Star Wars The Force Awakens Wall Art - First Order Kylo Ren
First Order Ren by Mike Kungl

Mike Kungl does beautiful graphic work that blends modern design into science fiction and fantasy worlds. Because of his unique style and big talent, he’s becoming very popular. For example, The Big Bang Theory has used his work in their set design. (If you’re a fan of the show, it’s the “Defend and Protect” X-Wing art in Leonard’s Room).

Kungl continues to expand his Star Wars art designs with these two fantastic Star Wars Giclee Prints from The Force Awakens.

BB-8 Astromech Droid and First Order Kylo Ren are both large canvas giclee prints, each one is 35 1/2″ x 24 1/2″ wide, signed and hand-numbered by artist Mike Kungl. Another similarity in these prints is their exclusivity. There are only 50 pieces of each one available! So don’t wait on these – once they’re gone you won’t be able to get them at this price, and you’ll have to pay more on ebay.

The Scavenger by Brian Rood

Brian Rood has established himself as one of the premier character artists in the geek and science fiction community. His ability to create photo-realistic paintings with airbrush is simply amazing. Due to his abilities, Rood has created licensed artwork for Disney, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and The Matrix.

The First Order Stormtrooper is a canvas giclee art print measuring 26″ tall x 20″ wide. However, The Scavenger and The Pilot are both wider and shorter: each is 35″ wide x 14″ tall. Brian Rood has signed and numbered each of these Star Wars Fine Art Prints. And they are in short supply. All three prints are available in a limited edition print run of only 95.

Sunset Vigil by Jerry Vanderstelt

She’ Still Got It,  from artist Jerry Vanderstelt, is a limited edition fine art from The Force Awakens. This limited edition giclee print shows The Millennium Falcon in flight surrounded by beautiful scenery. She’s Still Got It is 36″ wide x 21″ tall, large enough to make a dramatic conversation piece. And with the limited edition numbering and signature of artist Jerry Vanderstelt, it’s sure to impress. Also included is the certificate of authenticity.

Sunset Vigil shows BB-8 taking a peek while from behind a rock and highlights the talent of the artist to combine lighting, character and scenery together into an awesome print. You will definitely want to get this while you can. First of all, you’ll be proud to display art like this, it’s fantastic and colorful. Secondly, you’ll be happy to have such a great piece with such a popular and lovable character as BB-8. Finally, you will be very exclusive – there are only 15 of these! That’s right, the limited edition print run is only 15! And yes, there’s a certificate of authenticity.

I’ve Always Wanted To Fly One of Those, by Damien Friesz

I've Always Wanted To Fly One Of Those by Damien Friesz, a Star Wars The Force Awakens Fine Art Print
I’ve Always Wanted To Fly One Of Those, by Damien Friesz

Of all the prints in this list, I’ve Always Wanted To Fly One Of Those is a little on the small side, measuring 24″ wide x 12″ tall. However, this smaller size makes it perfect for areas like an office wall. Another great way to make the most of it’s smaller size is by using it as a complimentary piece. For example, TIE Fighter Down, would look stunning sharing the same wall.

This Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens wall art is from a limited edition print run of only 95 pieces. Damien Friesz signs each print. And each print comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Star Wars Monopoly Force Awakens Version Details

Something else unique about this board is that the pieces are NOT characters from the movies. Instead, the pieces are ships from the movies. This is the only Star Wars Monopoly that includes the Millennium Falcon as a game piece! The other ships that come with this version are an X-Wing, a TIE fighter, and an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Star Wars Episode I Monopoly

Star Wars Episode 1 Monopoly - 3D Collectors Edition
Classic Monopoly Board Game with pieces and properties from The Phantom Menace

Available From

Star Wars Episode I Monopoly is out of print. The best option is to get it on ebay.

Star Wars Episode I Monopoly is a “3D” board which has a board which is taller than most boards. One of the most popular parts about this board is that the property deeds slip right onto the board in a special slot over its property spot on the board. With the awesome way that the property cards fit on the board, it’s really very easy to see which properties are still available.

This is a “full” or classic version of Star Wars Monopoly. The game isn’t shortened, it’s the normal rules and there are 40 spaces on the board. If you know how to play Monopoly, then this is really easy to play.

The Star Wars Monopoly Game Pieces that come in Star Wars Episode 1 Monopoly are: Qui-gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Darth Sidious, Battle Droid, Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Jar-Jar Binks and Sebulba.

Star Wars Episode II Monopoly

Available From

Star Wars Episode II Monopoly is out of print. The best option is ebay, since you can generally get a better view of the exact board you’re buying. They are also available on Amazon.

Star Wars Episode II Monopoly adds a new element to the classic Monopoly rules. In this version, there are two “force tokens” that stay on the board. If the dice come up just right, you can move the force tokens around the board. If they land on a space where a character token is, then that character loses some Republic Credits (money).

Other than that, it’s a full Star Wars Monopoly board, with all 40 spaces and classic rules.

There are pewter 8 Star Wars Monopoly Game Pieces that come with Episode 2.  The characters are Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Mace Windu, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, Battle Droid and Clone Trooper.

Star Wars Monopoly Original Trilogy Edition

Available From

Star Wars Original Trilogy Edition Monopoly is out of print. The best place to find it is on ebay.

Star Wars Monopoly Original Trilogy Edition is from 2004.

The game pieces that come in the Original Trilogy Edition are Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, Grand Moff Tarkin, Lando Calrissian, Tusken Raider, and TIE Fighter Pilot.

The Monopoly board is high quality. Instead of houses and hotels you use ships – X-Wings and TIE Fighters instead of houses and Corellian freighters and Star Destroyers for the hotels.

This is a very nice set, released in 1997, marking the 20th anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars movie.

Another interesting thing about this board is that it’s the only Star Wars Monopoly set with a Chewbacca. Crazy, right? But true.

The Limited Collectors Edition includes these game pieces: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, R2-D2, and Boba Fett.

Star Wars Monopoly Saga Edition

Star Wars Saga Edition Monopoly
The Saga Edition has at least one character from each of the first 6 films.

Available From

Out of print. Find it on ebay.

You may have noticed that there was a Star Wars Monopoly board for both Episode I and Episode II, but not for Episode III.

Well, at least not specifically. But the Saga Edition was released after The Revenge of the Sith came out, and it is kind of a “best of” for all of the films.

This is a really popular board because it has such a great collection of characters included with it.

Ep I: The Phantom Menace: Darth Maul; Ep II: Attack of the Clones: Yoda; Ep. 3: Revenge of the Sith: Obi-Wan Kenobi & General Grievous; Ep IV: A New Hope: Luke Skywalker; Episode V: Empire Strikes Back: Darth Vader; Episode VI: Return of the Jedi: Princess Leia & Emperor Palpatine.  Whew! What a collection!

Star Wars Clothing 10 Baby Onesies For Infants and Toddlers

Boba Fett Character Onesie

I am a JEDI, like my father before me

I am a JEDI like my father before me

Starting this list of great looking Star Wars Onesies that any fan would be happy to get as a baby shower gift and proudly display on their little ones is this.

“I am a JEDI, like my father before me.”

This quote is from Return of the Jedi, and is spoken by Luke Skywalker during his final confrontation with Emperor Palpatine. It is perfect your baby Jedi,  and gives Dad a sense of pride, too. The logo displayed on the shirt is is the insignia for The Jedi Order, which served to train young Padawan’s (apprentices) in the ways of The Force.

Perfect for Jedis as young as newborns and up to 18 months old.

BB-8 Character Onesie

This Star Wars Onesie is fashioned after BB-8 and includes a matching little hat!

The Force Awakens lovable droid BB-8 quickly became a fan favorite and has now been found in all sorts of character merchandise.

But with this BB-8 character onesie, you’ll have your own little Star Wars droids crawling around the house showing you just how mobile they can be, and doing it in style with their matching hats!

Baby Fett

Baby Fett Star Wars Onesie
Baby Fett Star Wars Onesie

The Baby Fett onesie is a nice entry in because it features Boba Fett, which for many fans is the more popular character from Star Wars.

The thing about Boba Fett is that it seems that the more serious the fan, the more they tend to LOVE Boba Fett.

Maybe it’s the gravely voice, or the rocket backpack, or the fact that he’s cunning enough to track down Han Solo even while he was in the company of both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. Whatever the reason, Boba Fett rules in the Star Wars galaxy, so if you’re looking for a baby shower present for a Star Wars fan then anything with Boba Fett is a sure hit.

Maximum size for the Baby Fetts is 18 months.

Boba Fett Character Onesie

Boba Fett Character Onesie
Boba Fett Character Onesie

One more Boba Fett entry in this list of Star Wars onesies- because he’s THAT popular.

What’s great about this onesie is that it looks like the Mandalorian armor that Boba Fett wears, complete with the different colored shoulders and the scuff marks on the chest armor.

I’m not going to overload on Boba Fett but both of these are such great Star Wars onesies that you can’t go wrong with either one (or both).

Just note that this onesie doesn’t come in as large of sizes – this one is available in sizes up to 6 months.

Come To The Dark Side... We Have Cookies

Pink Star Wars Onesie - Come to the Dark Side, We Have Cookies
Pink Star Wars Onesie - Come to the Dark Side, We Have Cookies

This phrase is not from the films, but it’s a funny and popular one that’s now part of the Star Wars lexicon. I think it came from one of the themes of the original trilogy – that of turning to the Dark Side of The Force. This time, though, we’ll sweeten the deal with some cookies!

Note: I’ve tried to stay away from shirts with iron-ons, because I hate it when they peel off, and you wouldn’t want any of the peeling off parts to end up in the little one’s mouth! This one IS an iron on, and some have complained that it peels too easily. So while the design is really cute, it might not have much versatility. It could be a “buy it for the May 4th party only” type of purchase.

Largest size on this Star Wars onesie is 12 months.
